With funding from the Polar Studies Program of the Robert A. Pritzker Center for Meteoritics and Polar Studies Genome Analyst Felix Grewe journeys to Antarctica to collect Usnea lichens. A unique hybrid of algae and fungus, lichens are early predictors of climate change. Step into this extreme and beautiful environment. Thanks to Thorsten Lumbsch, Leopold G.
